What the tale is about

A child who has grown up abroad without hearing the call to prayer travels with his father to spend Ramadan in their homeland, Türkiye. Welcomed by his grandfather and a large family gathering, he discovers streets filled with Ramadan preparations, illuminated minarets, iftar tents, and joyful activity. At his first tarawih prayer, he experiences ablution, standing shoulder to shoulder with the congregation, and reciting salawat together. When the unfamiliar prayer makes him feel left out, his grandfather gently encourages him to join in. Drums, calls to prayer, fasting, feasts, and family leave the child with lasting love for Ramadan, worship, and belonging.
