What the tale is about
Maryam cannot understand why her worried parents keep whispering and reminding each other that Allah is Great, so she asks her father how great Allah really is. He helps her explore the meaning of greatness through examples, from children and animals to oceans, the Earth, the Sun, and stars. He then explains that Allah’s greatness is beyond size: Allah created everything, ordered the seasons and the world, and gave people wonderful abilities and loving hearts. When the call to prayer begins, Maryam understands “Allahu Akbar” and sees reminders of Allah’s greatness everywhere.
