What the tale is about
When Zeynep’s pencil, eraser, and cardigan seem to disappear, her mother wonders why she has become so quiet. At school, she discovers that Zeynep has been giving her belongings to Hacer, a new girl from Syria who needs clothes and school supplies. Zeynep has learned from Surah Al-Insan that good people share what they love with the poor, orphans, and those in need, without seeking attention. Her mother adds the surah’s reminders about the briefness of worldly life, the Day of Judgment, and choosing what is right. Together, they plan more ways to welcome and help Hacer.
