What the tale is about
On a balcony filled with tea, laughter, and playful photographs, seven-year-old Yusuf listens as his mysterious grandfather tells the story of Heysem, a young scientist in the Kingdom of the Overflowing River. Each year, floods destroy the kingdom’s crops, so Heysem is given forty days to find an answer. After becoming distracted by wonderful dreams and being locked in a dark room, he studies the light entering through a tiny hole and discovers an upside-down image on the wall. His observation helps save the kingdom and inspires the principle behind the camera obscura, celebrating curiosity, responsibility, and scientific thinking.
