What the tale is about
When Meryem’s most beautiful picture disappears, she searches everywhere in the house, looking under the bed, in cupboards, the kitchen, and even the refrigerator. At last, she discovers it in the living room, framed and hung on the wall as a surprise from her parents. Since everything seems to be somewhere, Meryem asks her father where Allah is. He uses the difference between a painter and a painting, and the sun and its light, to explain that Allah is not confined to created places, while His love, mercy, and power are all around us. Meryem learns that questions lead to understanding.
